How do I target content on Ocasta?

How to target news posts and articles by region, location, location type, audience and role

When creating an article or news item you have the option to target the content to

  • An Audience or

  • Location type(s) or

  • Location(s) or

  • Region(s) / Sub-region(s)

In addition to any of the above you can also target by user role. For example, you may want to target all users in the SouthEast Region with the role of Regional manager.

How do I target news posts and articles by location type?

  1. Login to the admin.

  2. Select an article or news post.

  3. Scroll to the section titled Who can view this?

  4. You’ll see a toggle for Users in all locations or some? Toggle to some.

  5. A dropdown list will be displayed- Target by location type, location, region or predefined audience? Select type.

  6. You should see an option appear below titled Which locations types? Select the location types you would like to be able to view the article or news post from the list.

  7. Don't forget to tap 'Update' when you have finished editing.

How do I target news posts and articles by location?

  1. Login to the admin.

  2. Select an article or news post.

  3. Scroll to the section titled Who can view this?

  4. You’ll see a toggle for Users in all locations or some? Toggle to some.

  5. A dropdown list will be displayed - Target by location type, location, region or predefined audience? Select location.

  6. You should see an option appear below titled Which locations? Start typing the location into the text field and select the location when it appears in the list. You can add more than one location. The location/s you add will be displayed in the box and only those locations will be able to view the content.

  7. Don't forget to tap 'Update' when you have finished editing.

How do I target news posts and articles by region/sub-region?

  1. Login to the admin.

  2. Select an article or news post.

  3. Scroll to the section titled Who can view this?

  4. You’ll see a toggle for Users in all locations or some? Toggle to some.

  5. A dropdown list will be displayed - Target by location type, location, region or predefined audience? Select region.

  6. You should see an option appear below titled Which regions? Select which region/ sub-region you’d like to be able to view the content. You can select more than one region/sub-region.

  7. Don't forget to tap 'Update' when you have finished editing.

How do I target news posts and articles by role?

N.B You can use this filter in addition to any of the other filters. For example, you may want to target all users in the SouthEast Region with the role of Regional manager.

  1. Login to the admin.

  2. Select an article or news post.

  3. Scroll to the section titled Who can view this?

  4. You’ll see a toggle for All users roles or some? Toggle to some.

  5. You should see an option appear below titled Which roles? Select which roles you’d like to be able to view the content. You can select more than one role.

  6. Don't forget to tap 'Update' when you have finished editing.

How do I target news posts and articles by predefined Audience?

You’ll first need to create an Audience. Once you’ve created an audience follow these steps:

  1. Login to the admin.

  2. Select an article or news post.

  3. Scroll to the section titled Who can view this?

  4. You’ll see a toggle for Users in all locations or some? Toggle to some.

  5. A dropdown list will be displayed - Target by location type, location, region or predefined audience? Select predefined audience.

  6. You should see an option appear below titled Which audiences? Select an audience from the list or start typing in the box and the audience should be displayed. You can only select one audience.

  7. Don't forget to tap 'Update' when you have finished editing.
